About

My name is Ian Ross Kegler, I am a Design Engineering graduate from Imperial College London. I have studied modules in math, mechanics, computing, statistics, electronics, finite element analysis and robotics in addition to modules in design, communication and enterprise. The focus of my education has been breadth, allowing me to create more holistic designs, incorporating elements of human-centred design, manufacturing, electronics and software from the inception of an idea.

In addition to these technical and creative skills, I also have practical manufacturing experience. There can be value in theoretical design, but I find concepts that can actually be made much more compelling. I believe physical and virtual prototyping to be essential and place great importance on how a product feels and what it is like to interact with in real life.

Project management has been an integral part of my undergraduate studies with no fewer than three group or individual projects a year. Group work and personal organisation is extremely important in design, particularly in diverse teams. My skills and background are suited to designing in multidisciplinary teams to solve complex problems.

If you have any questions about my projects or my skills/background more generally please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
